June 2026 Edition

Howdy, SHRM Florida!  

First and foremost, I am incredibly honored to step into the role of Communications Director for the SHRM Florida State Council and serve as Editor of both the SHRM Florida Newswire and the SHRM Florida Review. As someone who believes deeply in the power of storytelling, connection, and elevating the voices within our HR community, this opportunity means more to me than I can properly put into words. 

This June edition marks my very first Newswire as Editor, and I could not be more excited to help share the stories, successes, insights, and innovation happening across all Florida chapters and beyond. One of my goals is simple: make our publications feel like your publication. Not just a newsletter or magazine you read, but a platform where our members, leaders, volunteers, students, military supporters, and HR professionals can truly shine. 

And speaking of new additions, I’m especially proud to introduce our new Military Corner, featuring content focused on ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve), service members, veterans, and military-connected workplace initiatives. As a recipient of the SHRM Florida Spirit of Patriotism Award and the ESGR 7 Seals Award, this addition is especially meaningful to me personally, and I’m excited to spotlight organizations and leaders making a difference in supporting those who serve.

ESGR Liaison to SHRM Florida 

Jessica (Jess) Holloman serves on the SHRM Florida State Council as the Council Communications Director. She is the ESGR Liaison to SHRM Florida, past president of SHRM Pinellas (SuncoastHR). Additionally, she has received the HR Professional of the Year Award (SHRM Florida and Fisher Phillips) and the Spirit of Patriotism Award (SHRM Florida and ESGR). In her paid gig, Jess is the Corporate Vice President, Senior HR Business Partner, Business Enablement at New York Life Insurance Company in Tampa, Florida.
